2 Superachilles	Purpose built for the 1978 Round Britain and Ireland Race. 2 was her Round Britain Race number. Sail numbers 1 to 10 were owned by Oliver Lee and not allocated.

11 Achilles	Built in 1970, fin keel 7/8 rigged. Owned by Cornel Carpenter.

41 Rascal	Sailed and raced from Dun Laoghaire Motor Yacht Club, Dublin, and owned by Kevin Burke and Simon Milner.

48 Scarlet O' Hara	Sailed from Dale Yacht Club near Milford Haven, and owned by John Williams.

86 Yin Ogin	Sailed from Ramsey, Isle of Man, and owned by Brian Quayle.

94 Crazy Puffin	Launched for the first time in 1991 after 20 years ashore. Sailed from Lymington and owned by Simon Clark and Hilary Adkin until they sold her in the summer of 2006.

102 Prowler	Triple keel. Sailed from Hayling Island and owned by James Turner.

104 Freedom	Triple keel. When a refit is complete (hopefully by the start of next season - work permitting) she will be sailed out of Newport and Uskmouth Sailing Club in South Wales and owned by Vince Edwards.

111 Aquatonic	Triple keel. Sailed from Aberaeron, West Wales and owned by Nick Sawyer.

113 Little Bird	Single fin keel version sailed from Club Nautico, Denia, Spain and was owned by David Joyce who sold her in the Spring of 2005.

A118 San-Dans(Sundance)	Fin keel. Sailed from Saldanha, South-Africa (33ºS 18ºE) and owned by Cobus Rabe & Johan Schlemmer.

147 Colette	Sailed from Cardiff and owned by Tim Thorne.

154 Terpsichore	Sailed from Watchet and owned by Chris Douglas.

169 Blue	Sailed from Falmouth and owned by Andy and Rod Holliman.

181 Tabatha	Fin keel. Yanmar 1gm10 inboard. Sailed from Pin Mill, Ipswich on the river Orwell. Owned by Tim Morton, Richard Grimes, and Martin Cotton.

1176C Spring Run	Built in 1973. The original sail number (176) was expanded in 1976 to allow entry into racing events on the Clyde. She was sailed singlehanded to the Canary Islands and back in the winter of 2001 - 2002, see the Links page for more information. Sailed from Oban and owned from new by Ian Wallace.


214 Amrum	Winner of the 2001 Royal Solent Yacht Club Winter Series, and the only Achilles 24 in the 2001 Round The Island Race. Sailed on the Solent and owned by John Crump and John Rickard since winter 2004.

220 Lyon	Purchased in Spring 2004. Moored Hardway, Gosport and sailed mainly in the Solent. Owned by Richard Edy.

225 Swan	Sailed from Milford Haven and owned by Jeff Adams and Patricia Briley.

231 Raan	(ex Too Much ex Matopos). Fin keel, 8hp outboard. Sailed from Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands (Oosterschelde, Zeeland) and owned by Ben Hell.

232 Archimedes	1974 Triple keel with a 7hp Vire inboard. Sailed from Burry Port Marina, South Wales and owned by Norman Anthony.

271 Water Music	Triple keeler with a dark blue hull and white decks. Built circa 1973. 5hp Yamaha outboard. Sailed from Aberaeron, West Wales and owned by Alan Price.

279 Doran Gorm	Her name is Gaelic for Blue Otter. Fin keel, mark 1, built about 1973. Sailed on Loch Lomond and owned by Andrew Rycroft.

302 Zethar	Built in 1975 (ex Nonchalance ex Boomerang). No 1, No 2 genoa's and mainsail of Dacron made by SKB Sails at Penryn near Falmouth. Yamaha F4 outboard. Sailed from Falmouth and owned by Geoff Marks. Email - Achilles24@btopenworld.com

303 Amaryllis	Built in 1973. Sailed from Groomsport, N. Ireland and owned by Andrew Curry.

309 Thetis	Built in 1975. Fully battened main, Honda 5hp outboard, RIBA road trailer. Sailed from Hartlepool Marina and owned by Les Franks and Chris Hamlett.

315 Adams Crib	Sail No 315, Adams Crib (which is some kind of dental brace: presumably the inventor turned his profits into a boat); moored on the River Yealm, Devon, right up by Steer Point.

324 Chilli Pepper	(ex Sunbird of Arne). Fin keel. Just finished (May '06) a complete refit and looking fantastic. Sailed from Falmouth and owned by Ron and Ian Dustow.

328 Thetis	(ex Lazy lizz) Single Fin. White hull with white deck. Yamaha 8HP outboard. Sailed in the Netherlands and owned by Nynke Staps.

329 Aluffe	Sailed from Flushing, Falmouth and owned by William Garnier.

362 Little Plum	Sailed from Pill near Bristol and owned by Iain and Dorothea Martin.

373 Mordros	Built in 1976 and has a red hull and fin keel. Sailed from Fowey and owned by William Mitchell.

383 Sparkey	Fin keel, dark blue hull with white decking. 8hp Yamaha outboard. Sailed from Chichester Harbour and owned by Steven and Mark Prince.

393 Nimrod	Fin keel and a Yanmar single cylinder diesel engine. Sailed out off Carrickfergus and owned by Henry Wilson.

397 Marco Polo	Sailed from Kappeln district Schleswig-Holstein, Northern Germany and owned by Egbert Zeimet.

403 Well Heeled	Built around 1978 (ex Blue Fox). Triple keel with a Honda 5HP outboard in a well and a light blue hull. Sailed on Lough Derg in Ireland and owned by Colin and Brian Beck.

415 Tumbleweed	Single Fin. Red hull with white deck. Honda 8HP outboard. Bought in August 2004. Sails out of Cowes, owned by Andy Phillips.

448 Japans	(ex Julius) Bought from Belgium in 1995. Fin keel, Yamaha 4hp outboard. Sailed in the Netherlands and owned by Jaap and Ans Prins.

449 Andromeda	Triple keel. Sailed from Mylor, Cornwall and owned by Dave Pendreich.

463 Snoopy	The boat featured in Sailing Today. Originally, Snoopy was a Windermere boat but taken to Tenby by the previous owner. Now red hulled, she has a triple keel and a 4 HP outboard. Sailed by Rhys and Alan Jones out of Newport Uskmouth Sailing Club.

466 Felicia	Built in 1977. I bought the boat in Oslo in 2004 and sailed her to Tønsberg. I usually sail in the Oslo-fjord, as I live on Husøy, a small island close to Tønsberg. Owned by Tove Sørlie.

468 Achille Lauro	Sailed from Lelystad in the Netherlands and owned by Daniel van der Zwaan.

481 Sundown	Fin Keel, Red hull. Built 1980. Sailed from Loe Beach, Truro, and owned by Ann and Tony Bishop Stephens.

484 Obsession	Fin Keeled, Dark Blue Hull. Purchased in September 2003. Sailed from Neyland Yacht Club in Pembrokeshire. Believed to have been built mid 1970s. Owned by Edward Perkins, my first proper yacht. Intend to race locally where there is a good fleet, do some coastal cruising together with some single handed sailing. Equipped with full set of Kemp Sails.

508 Polyxena	Sailed from Fareham and owned by David and Jan Hockley.

529 Argo	Triple keel, sailed from Plymouth and owned by Norman Bowley.

546 True Blue	Triple keel, sailed from Plymouth and owned by Mike Ross.

562 Aeolus	Originally called "IDA" but renamed by myself "AEOLUS". I am the third owner purchasing her in January 2007. She is moored at Ramsgate Marina and owned by Malcolm Rendle.

569 Forward	Sailed from Emsworth and owned by Vic and Brenda Pugh.

582 Meltemi	Sailed from Felixstowe Ferry and owned by Nigel and Ben Jackson.

590 SEEL	Triple keeled with an Arona single cylinder 7 hp diesel inboard engine. Sailed from Hightown about 10 miles north of Liverpool on the Mersey Estuary and owned by Philip Wright.

592 Mouette Solitaire.	Triple keel. Owned by Rocyn Williams and sailed from Portishead until she was sold in 2006.

NZL823 Songeur	Extensively modified for ocean racing during her build, Songeur completed the 1975 AZAB and 1976 OSTAR. Sailed from Auckland, New Zealand and owned by Geoff Davies.

Achilles 24
